Masters Worth It

Hello, am a business student at Ivy. I was wondering if you guys think a professional accelerated masters in CS is worth it? It would only take me an extra semester. I feel like not being a CS major is inhibiting me from some initial screens, though with referral I am confident my resume will pass. I got a couple interviews (Google, Databricks, Facebook, NVIDIA) previously but was not prepared enough with the LC. Pros: CS on resume My housing lease is signed through Spring semester, and I would be taking advantage of that, otherwise would be graduating early and eating a ~6000 loss. Cons: 30k in the hole Opportunity cost of ~6 months salary Opportunity cost of leetcode time More. School. :( Would you guys do it? I know at the end of the day merit is what truly matters, but do you think a masters in cs will also help in later career?

Worth it to me since only one more semester. Esp if you focus on valuable CS classes. 6 months isn't a big deal.

What CS classes would you consider valuable? OS, distributed systems, ML, comp vision, .... would appreciate recommendations :)

Should focus on CS fundamentals not specifics like ML and computer vision.

Since it’s only one semester, go for it.

If the undergrad was math and not business I would be all for it, but yeah unless the goal is to bullshit one's way into an ML position probably not the best idea.

Masters are worthwhile in a recession.
