Is it wise going for MS at GaTech leaving a decent salary in India ? I have an admit for Fall 19 but getting confused every alternate day as it gets near. I am worried that if I give up on MS, I might never get a chance to work in US and have a different experience. TC 43 lpa (base 27) YOE 3 Undergrad from IIT kharagpur CSE

I have seen this post before 🙄
That’s good money for 3 yoe. You’ll have a lot of uncertainty when you come to US for masters. If you’re ok with that uncertainty for about 3 - 4 years - you can give it a shot. The reward may or may not be good. If I were you I’d try an internal transfer instead.
What's the uncertainty for 3-4 years ? I will have 3 years of opt
Usa is not what it used to be 15 years ago.. stay home, stay happy.. you are paid good
Your TC and yoe tells me u r young and smart. I think you will be worth more in US with more opportunities especially after that masters. Also, masters in US is a great experience for life. You won’t regret. So I say go for it.
43 LPA at 3 yoe? That's really good. Stay put, nail it at work like you currently are... The Masters degree itself is a good experience but the years after that as a second class citizen crushes you mentally (purely due to visa), if you've seen the good life in India. Don't leave your likely alpha status in life to be a permanent naukar in the US. If you're particular about US experience, do an internal transfer or work at Microsoft, Amazon etc who can transfer you in a year or two. Good luck!
It's a great experience.

If you are doing good in job right now, you will definitely do good in usa. If its is your dream to work in us go for it.
Visa issues in US aren’t worth the longgg fight
