Maximum pay band for Amazon Bangalore at SDE2 level?

I recently cleared a L5 loop at Amazon, the salary discussion has not started.(Recruiter has not asked for current salary details). Will Amazon be able to beat my current TC which is around 1.1 Crores INR considering current secondary market price of Cohesity stock 57 lac base+ 2.6 lac variable, 7400 RSUs vested over 4 years). Other offer details- Have another offer from another company(Already public) - TC - 93 lac YOE -7.4 years Please advice.

No 1.1cr is out of band for SDE2 at Amazon, even with their new bands. They'll hard reach 90L

In exceptional cases I've seen 85L so 90L should be possible, tho very difficult

No, ask them for sde-3 it will beat it easily for sde-3 the band is upto 1.7 cr

For L5, top of the band is 80. For external hires, I would be surprised if they go anywhere more than 85. But isn't your experience enough for L6 loops? L6 band goes till 1.7 Cr and start at 1.2Cr

Max I have seen is 80. However, because of your high yoe and current compensation is so high, they might go higher.

What happened was they did not mention the level in any of the interview loop emails, I became aware of the level only after the loops were over. Is this normal?

Yeah for most people they just default to SDE-2 only.

You're in the L6 band range, L5 maxes out at 80-85

Unlikely that they will ghost you, they will probably try to first "convince" you that their offer is better somehow.

There is a possibility that they won’t consider your paper stocks because ipo hasn’t happened yet . I think they will start with top of the band 80L . And if you push for sde 3 , they might ask for few more rounds . Because u already have a 95L public company offer, it becomes dicey here . U need to ask for sde 3 and clear more rounds, no other way.

I was planning to get them to stretch to 90-95 and then take a call. If it does not work out, I will ask for a SDE 3 loop

I would suggest that you should first ask for SDE-3 itself. Even if you get a good package as an SDE-2, your compensation will be at the top of the band, which means you should not expect any major hikes till you reach SDE-3. SDE-2 to 3 promotions take notoriously long and most people take 3+ years for it. with your level of experience you should be a senior engineer anyway. If you can't clear the SDE-3 loop, you can ask for an SDE-2 position anyway since you have already cleared it.

Just got an update from the hiring manager, the proposed offer is 54 base + (40 + 36) sign on for the first 2 years. And 48 RSUs (5, 15, 40, 40). Spoke to him about my current TC and the external offer I have and he came up with this offer
