I have 18 years total experience in a specialized subset of mechanical engineering (would say more but I'd probaby be identifiable if I did). Looking to move into a company like Amazon, Microsoft, Google, etc. Obviously to work on hardware projects. Have contacts at a couple of those companies. I have a PE license (if that even matters) and an MBA. Prior experience in aerospace (civil and defense) and automotive. Puget Sound only. Would like to be in a management track. What is reasonable to expect for TC? How would that be broken down for any particular company?
Anything structural. Not electrical (though I've been involved in structural aspects of electronic hardware in the past). So validating strength, durability, etc.
I know people here are mostly software types. But I was hoping someone would have some good input for a mechanical engineer job.
Any update ? Did you make it to the Bay Area ?
Targeting tech in the Puget Sound. Making definite progress but not there yet. Looking at a few options including non-engineering roles.
Can I DM you? I have a friend who's ME but has very outdated skills when it comes to looking for a new job or going after TC
DM away!
Have you made any progress? Did you move into fang type companies?
