I spent 5yrs in a tech role. My partner and I have saved up more than enough money. We'd like to take 1-2yrs away from work for travel, personal projects, certs, etc. I'd like to go back to tech after this time. I'd like for that transition to be as pain free as possible. What should I consider now to help with that? E.g., * Keep tech skills sharp by doing one job interview puzzle per day * Call out time off on resume and Linkedin so that it appears to be intentional and thoughtful * Call out accomplishments and projects completed during time off so that it appears productive My worry is that future HMs will interpret this time off as thoughtless, lazy, or as difficulty in the job market after having ended poorly with previous employer. Would like to avoid these interpretations if possible.
