I have an offer from Meta for E5 Enterprise Engineering at 275k CAD. I'm wondering if my competing offers need to be greater than Meta's offer or is it okay if it is equal to the Meta offer? I'm expecting Adobe to give me an offer but I doubt that it'll be greater than Meta's offer TC: 180k CAD Location : Remote Canada YOE : 7.5 @meta #meta #faang #swe #facebook #engineering #software #comp

Meta pays this less for Canada!? 🙁
Better than other companies 🤣 Other companies pays < 200k
That is true @amazon
I would say that is lower for E5 Would have been awesome for E4 E5 should be at least > 350k
My question is,does an offer from Adobe even matter at this point?
No! Build clout and jump off to stripe Stripe is paying fairly in Canadian market
OP if you don't mind relocating to US for 3-6 months ask them to give you an US remote offer or you can also ask for non remote offer in Seattle and then apply for remote.
I'm just 2.5 years away from a Canadian citizenship so I want to get the citizenship and only then move to the US. I have heard bad things about H4 EAD and want to make sure that I don't affect my wife's career
I see if you're not a Canadian citizen I guess you can't work in the US? Are you mexican or Australian by any chance? Or is H1B your only way?
Stripe offer would have been easily 350-400k
Canadian salaries pretty depressingly low as compared to standard of living and high taxes. Companies are lowballing candidates. Ideally, Canadian salaries should be at par with Bay or Seattle salaries to live peacefully. Real estate is out of reach from most Canadians. For example: Bordering towns of US & Canada In US, you might be able to get detached house for 300-450k USD Same house if put in Canadian side of the border. It will cost you 1-1.75 Mil CAD
To understand pain of Canadian job market: Imagine living in Bay Area and getting paid according to mid west US
275k is a joke for e5 in Canada, they pay 350k+ if they feel like it.
Greater or equal for what ?
