I am about to get an offer for Meta IC4 Hardware systems engineer, Menlo Park, CA. So basically i went through the interview process and today recruiter called me to tell me that i will get an offer for IC4, however he said my interview review had some red flags and he asked me all the comp numbers at my current position (which are considerably less than what usually Meta offers for IC4). He said he will try to get a competitive offer. My question is, will he low ball me since i gave him all my current comp numbers? Also, if my reviews were bad and if i try to negotiate then what are my chances of getting a better offer? What do you guys think i should be offered for Hardware systems engineer, IC4 with relevant YOE - 6? Thanks for your help in advance! #engineer #interview #hardware
I think it’s just recruiter’s BS tactic. They won’t give you an offer if there are red flags.
Thanks for your response. Any idea what can I expect for the compensation numbers for Hardware IC4?
Probably around 270-300k. Not very sure..
TC: more than 400k.
its illegal to ask current compensation in CA ! they ask it to so that they dont have to give more than they have to. if reviews r bad, they wont hire u, even if u say u'll work for free. u have to be firm that this is the comp range u r looking for and its illegal in ca to ask current comp. also they try to bypass this by asking u ur current grade which again u can refuse as it gives them idea of current comp.
Did you get the offer OP?

Don't tell your current comp numbers unless it's really high. TC or GTFO
