Joining Meta soon on a remote team and want to know what the company policy is on offsites to bring teams together for in-person events/collaboration? Is this something that’s encouraged in the US?

At Uber my team was distributed and we used to fly to a hub for a week, once a quarter (pre-pandemic) and I really enjoyed that.

I just hosted an offsite at MPK. I’m a remote D1 and live in the Midwest. I have employees from all across the globe. Most of everyone showed up. For the most part there are no issues. It gets tricky if you have folks coming in from Asia

I know some orgs are different. My team has been traveling all over the world for work. I know some teams haven’t traveled in almost three years.

I also joined from U to M. Afaik it's team dependent, there are multiple offsites happening this and next week. I don't think anyone ever have any problem expense their travel.

One thing I forgot to add- if you end up having to travel frequently overseas, you can expense your global entry application costs to your corporate card. Also, depending on the hours/miles of your flight, you can be upgraded to business class.

@XiEX73 - Does every employee at Meta get a corporate card? I am planning to join as an IC5 soon.

Also is that your Uber TC? If Meta it seems really low for non new grad. For reference I made 190K (116 base, 40 stock, 10% bonus, and 45k signon pro-rated for 2 years) as a remote new grad in GA
