Recruiter called me today 2 days after on-site and told me things are trending positive and they'd like to set me up for an informal chat (they call it coffee chat) with the Hiring Manager just for them to get to know me and me to get to know them. The Hiring Manager wasn't part of the on-site since they're new to Meta as well (8 months). They said this is not an interview and it does not have any effect on the decision. Meta Career Portal has also labeled it as 'Conversation' and e-mail named it '30 mins Bluejeans non-voting'. I asked them if I can consider this a verbal offer since things are trending positive? They said no they're still wrapping up some final things.

Anyway, has anyone had experience with this? What can I expect during this chat? How close am I to an offer? Anything helps. Thank you!

Likely just that…a coffee chat. Treat it as if was being counted toward your interview in that you shouldn’t get tooo comfortable and start dropping F bombs. Wait for Day 3 at least. Just chat them up. What’s causing them headaches? Summer plans…etc

every conversation is an interview. Big 4s call kids for lunch and reject if somebody took the drink from their left side.

Treat every conversation as an interview until you get an offer. Based on your description you are almost there but hiring managers would want to make sure for themselves that you are a good fit and it's worth for them to go through with remainder of hiring process. It's also an opportunity for you to evaluate team/manager fit. Don't stress out but don't take it too casually either.
