Location: Seattle Base: 130k Stocks: 140k over 4 years Signon: 40k Annual performance bonus: 20% Annual performance stock range: 13k My recruiter has said that this is the maximum team is willing to pay for the position. Does that mean there is no more room for negotiation? I don’t understand how to compute for total compensation when there is performance bonuses (does the maximum count?) I have matching (maybe even better) offers from other companies as well: Google, Amazon, and Snowflake. Only reason I am considering Microsoft is because the project space seems more interesting.
Lol maximum? My friend has the similar tc as yours but his lvl is 60
Great offer for msft
Performance bonus target is half of max, so 10%.
That’s good to know! Thanks!
My L61 offer (6 mo ago) for comparison: 135k/200k/50k (30k 1st year + 20k 2nd year) 2.5 YoE Fairley sure this was top 5% possible for L61 at the time. I've heard of L61 offers breaking 140k base in this fiscal year (last couple of months).
I’m impressed. How did you pull this out? What was your other options?
Used offers from G (L3: 130k/212k/45k) & FB (E4: 160k/200k/35k) for leverage. Went with Microsoft due to preference in location (Colorado vs bay/Seattle) and team preference.
OP, did you have competing offer?
Yes, I had 6 different offers. 2 are rejected already.
I mean, why not take a stronger offer and get some experience
Been to multiple companies before and I liked the current team in Microsoft. I was going to accept their offer if they matched with what I asked for initially, but they did not, which got me into looking for other offers as well.
What team/org Op? Offer is solid, above average for 61
