Microsoft Annual Performance Bonus!!

Does MS usually pays 100% of targeted annual performance bonus to most or its just for top performers? Also does month of joining has any major impact on it other than getting a prorated performance bonus?

TC: $160

  • To clarify, each band has a bonus range of 0-x%, with .5x being the target. The majority of people get pretty close to the .5x target, with higher performers getting much higher (closer to x) and underperformers getting less than .5x. only people in the process of getting PIPd out get absolutely nothing.

  • I interviewed for Sr. Program manager and they are offering me Program manager 2 role which has 20 % target. This role is for Azure CI/CD Pipeline team. I have another offer from Audible at L6 but with performance bonus component MS is beating Audible by almost 50K so I am confused whether to go for higher role at Audible or higher TC at MS?

    • Depends on what you're chasing. I'd personally take the lower level and lower stress job with higher TC. If I'm really at that senior level, I'll get the promotion pretty soon and have even higher TC. Others may prefer to have that senior title + experience on their resume and leverage that for an even higher position at the next hop.
