Both teams seem pretty decent from briefly talking with the managers. Any insider information about either of those teams? What are some good questions to ask the managers?
Dev or PM? IoT should be more outward facing . Compute mostly technical.
Dev
Now backup and some other teams where move under compute please what team exactly does
Thanks for the post. Did you interview last Friday? Even I got an offer and would love to know the team structure and work within these teams.
Yep
I used to work in Azure IoT. Be prepared to work your ass off. But there is good velocity. No idea about Azure compute.
Could you share why you are no longer in that org?
Used to work in Azure Compute Resource Provider team, it's very customer facing. Mostly smart folks, some work long hours, so there might be lot to catch up when you start, but if you decide to stay for a while (couple of years) its a great experience.
Could you give some examples on what kind of problems the team is solving? Right now all I know is compute team deals with VMs.
It's hard to articulate unless there is sufficient context, but the team uses relatively new tech line service fabric which kind of forces the architecture to be micro service based.
IOT newer stuff. However if you are looking for more on gaining deep technical skills with challenging on calls go for compute.
Challenging on calls? What does that mean?
It means you get paged at 3am because shit hits the fan
