Microsoft CSEO Virtual Onsite Interview Experience
I had a virtual on-site interview with Microsoft CESO team two days ago, and, unfortunately did not get the offer.
The virtual interview experience(I am only talking about the interview being remote, not the content) was terrible. I was supposed to take 15 min breaks after each 45 min session. However, the recruiter sent out wrong links and my first interview got delayed for more than 30 mins. All my interviews got delayed or shortened more or less, and I did not get to take any break until the last interview(4 interviews scheduled).
The interviewers were also struggling a lot. One had dog barking non stop, and people nocking on the door. Another person had food(legit meal with spoon and rice) during the interview. And, they also had problem sending me the link to Codiliy as well.
The interview itself was typical. ~ten minutes of behavioral and experiance, and the rest was coding/system design. The questions were extremly easy tho. I was somewhat embarrassed to answer the questions because they were not only easy, but also thoes first few common questions asked on any practice site.
I was quite confident but did not pass the interview. I am not sure why I failed. Maybe they did not like me talking or my thinking process was not well organized? Or, maybe I have missed some edge cases.
Overall, the virtual interview experience was the worst it could get. Questions were easy to fair. I will just move on and continute on exploring. Best luck everyone!
In addition, one interesting thing I found was 3/4 interviewers were Indians. I thought MS was very diverse. Maybe it was just a coincidence.
