Hi everyone, I'm trying to figure out if I should take an intern offer to go to a team within the "Commerce and Ecosystems" product group under the Azure umbrella at Microsoft. I'm a Junior at college, with a previous summer internship at Amazon and a return offer to go back this summer. I was thinking it may be a good idea to branch out and try a different company, so I applied to other big companies. I have been reading on Blind about the C + E group at MSFT and it's all been negative. Anyone have any experience with the company and can help me understand what products would fall under this org and if it is actually all bad? Thanks for the help.
The good thing about coming to this team is you can do internal loops at Microsoft right away for any team you want, and the team is a mess so you will have lots of time to study. Once you’re at Microsoft switching teams is relatively easy. And who knows you might like it, some of the things in C+E aren’t bad
Are they any specific teams within C+E that are better?
Apparently my team within C + E is UST related. To be fair though, I have a feeling MSFT wouldn't put interns on the sucky side of their products. I may end up taking it
Is this also called marketplaces team or Commerce Platform and Experiences team?
Good lord no!! Go back to Amazon. G+E has no real product groups or products.
Jeez. I was interviewing in Azure and was thinking I would get a cool opportunity to differentiate from my experiences at Amazon this summer but I haven't heard a single positive thing about this C + E group. Do you know anything about what they do, or why they have such a negative rep?
Because this group does not work on anything Microsoft is known for. They are kind of equivalent to MSIT. Previously this group was named as UST. Search blind for UST.
