Microsoft Director level role - Level 66 - what should I expect from COMP side YOE-15 Current TC- 235k
Just answer what TC would be for L66... there are L65 and L66 directors. But not all L65/66 are directors.
I just found out level is 66. Internal title is BAI Manager. Why do they have different title outside. What should I expect TC for this role?
similar to maybe how EY says “senior manager” is Director (pwc, kpmg) equivalent.
Seems like "director" in Microsoft is not really a level like it is in google or fb (not sure what it means...). The Microsoft levels comparable to director in fb/g are 68+ I believe
“Director” can be applied to L65 or L66. “senior director” can be L66 or L67. L68 would not be referred to as Director. L68 is partner, or you may see GM.
Yes, I understand that. It seems like the msft comparable of a director in g/f (d1 / d2 which are l8 and l9) is partner and not a director.

Level 66 is Principal Manager. Level 67 is Principal Group Manager. (65-67 is Principal band in Microsoft) At 68 you are a Partner If every L66 was a director, there’d be like 10000 directors in Microsoft. As for TC - definitely aim for 350k + (Levels.fyi says that 338k is the average for L66)
