Does Microsoft ask design questions to intern at Seattle for interns?
Nah, no design questions. Just algo/data structures
yes i interviewed there for the internship last month. got rejected no surprise. 4 rounds got lc hard/super and mediums and 1 design round. i got google and linkedin offers which were only lc easymedium and no design lol
Do you mind if I dm you for the design question?
They’ll probably ask you how to print hello world in some garbage language like C# or even garbage Powershell
Sorry you didnt pass the interview bro. Ms doesnt have a cool down period so you can just try again...
I was interviewed for SDE 2 position only LC medium and hard no system design
For intern onsites, we typically have 3 coding rounds and 1 behavioral. We set our expectations based on what year you are and what courses you’ve taken. For example, we ask OS questions for juniors. I’ve asked system design to interns before, but it was mainly to get an idea of how you think, ask questions, listen, and communicate. I recommend just practicing basics like linked lists, searches, producer/consumer, etc.
4 technical interviews with medium difficulty
Difficulty varies, the same as for full time. Design questions are possible (I often ask a simple one myself). In my experience (been doing intern, university hire interviews for 15 years, 7 as an AA), the questions are similar to full time but the expectations are a bit lower.
I work there. We ask LC Hard.
Sh*t... really not scared about Algorithm and data structure just that I have zero system design experience so they ask me one I’m fucked. Can you confirm ?
That guy is probably trolling. It may vary between teams but the base line is 1 easy, 2 mediums and a simple set of behavioral questions. There is a chance you will get 1 hard. Nobody expects a prospective intern to write the optimal solution. Just be sure to think out loud and communicate how you are arriving at your solution
