Asking for a friend: I have an upcoming informational and am pretty sure I will be asked: why would you leave AWS to join Azure? I love AWS and Azure, but could use a better TC. My manager is good so I can't blame him for the move. Both compute... So it's apples to apples on business line.
TC, Different work culture Always wanted to work for MSFT and now it's a good time since u have a relevant experience
Can you please elaborate?
Donāt say TC. You donāt want to be a mercenary. Things to say: 1. Iām ready for a new challenge, new experiences 2. I heard the work culture is better here 3. Iām excited about the things microsoft is doing in (insert name of the areas here)
Culture may be a suitable reason.
It's a trap!
Because Amazon stock has been going downhill
Not really and if you look the short is betting hard on MSFT. On top of that Amazon announced a killer holiday season so next earnings it should rip up.
Looking for bigger impact, excited about Microsoft vision and position, would like to try working in a different culture to help grow, etc.
āAsking for a friendā. To be honest I donāt know why people do this. It doesnāt hurt if you ask questions
Dude I'm at Snap lol
It is easy to cook up an excuse, but never ever say that the only factor is money. Example excuse: āI have grown up using Microsoft Windows and would like to join Microsoft because it is such an amazing companyā. Example: āI feel that Microsoft is a better culture fit for me because I love using Microsoft products, and would like to contribute to its success.ā
Because the building is dope
Even if you were fleeing a bad manager this is something never to say in an interview
Better TC is equally good an answer.
Is this inappropriate to say because out of respect, you want to avoid speaking negatively of others when they are not in the room?
