I am afraid my H-1B might not get picked. MSFT will offer me a position in Vancouver if it doesn't work out. Anyone knows what salary I could expect as a L59 new grad hire in Vancouver? Levels, unfortunately, has only very few data points. (Question also is: should I keep grinding the LC?)
Amazon verbally told me the same. However I don't trust anything that's not written. I don't or can't know if they ever will.
I think it's good to accept and then see how you can change/increase later. H1b qualification is the first priority
It is ~70% of the US TC, because Canadians get paid less. I almost went to Vancouver last year
It's about 70% of your base. Your on hire stock and cash bonus stay the same. It'll be fine. Microsoft took all this effort to hire you. They'll take care of you. DM me if you need any help or have more questions.
It was 91k cad last year, they may increase a little bit this year. Also take into account higher taxes
Also they will change your sign on bonus to CAD and add extra 10k CAD, Stocks will stay the same but, again, keep in mind higher taxes (they withhold 50% of stocks for taxes, your effective tax rate will be ~30% though)
Any idea if they match up with the US salary (for the new level, assuming the person got promoted once or twice) when moving back to US?
