Microsoft L60 from Amazon SDE1 - India
I am being offered L60 at Microsoft IDC. Currently I am an SDE 1 at Amazon and according to my manager 6-9 months away from SDE 2 promo. I am wondering if I should take it? Is it possible to negotiate on level with Microsoft? Offered TC : 18 LPA Base, $30k stocks, 3 LPA JB, 20% bonus Current TC: 20 LPA YOE : 2.5

I would suggest to wait and get that promo at Amazon.
I know a few SDEs got promoted to SDE2 this year at Amazon India and they got really good hike. Their updated base is 25 LPA. Check for the recent promotions in your org and find out how much your base is going to be after the promotion. I would still suggest to hold on until your promotion.
Yes, that's what I am wondering if to work on a lower salary for a year. But L60 is like again working as SDE1 for at least 1-2 years, which I don't want to.
Yes, don't take 60 when you're about to be SDE2. That's downgrade for another 18 months or so.
Don't take L60. Even if you are good at what you do , a bad team/ org makes you wait long for l61
you should expect 61. I would get promoted to l5 and come back as 62. It may save you 2-3 years. It’s real.
Did you boomerang back to Microsoft at 62? Anyways I am going to ask my recruiter for 61 otherwise going to decline the offer.
External hire L5 gets paid way way way more than L62 near the upper half of the band.
