Got Microsoft offer: 220k base 100k sign on over 2 yrs 300k stock Vs Truveta 200k base 200 sign on 0.2% equity Is Microsoft offer decent for level 65?
Annual bonus and refresher target?
Recruiting hinted that annual bonus is usually 20% and stock refresher is based on performance
Stock is low for 65. I know 64s who got 400k in stock with competing offers.
I have competing offer but not from FAANG
What's your current level and tc at Amazon?
Current level L6 . TC 360k
Thanks. How far from an L7? At 360 tct you are mid range borderline high for your level. Do you think you may get exceeded/TT this year? That should get you easily in 390k range. 65 is not a bad level but you could/should try 66. It's hunger games at Microsoft for promotions
YOE? Level at Amazon?
YOE 15. L6 at Amazon
Are you IC or EM?
IC. No way I will become an EM 🤣
Is this the final after negotiation?
I don’t want to negotiate if this is a decent offer.
DM'd you.
I did a quick math. Isn't your offer from Microsoft almost same as your current TC? 220 (base) + 50(signing) + 60(stock) + 40(annual refreshers). = 370 I am sure your unvested Amazon stocks are a lot of value by now.
I am not interested in promotions per say but working on interesting projects and freedom to build (priority 1) with decent people (priority 2) and decent comp (priority 3). Some parts of Amazon are becoming day 2 with regards to P1 especially principal engineering community at large. That’s what I am not enjoying.
My unvested sticks on paper are around 450k. That’s not what I care for also.
negotiation is expected. you will actually make the other party feel bad if you don’t. Ask them to match your remaining RSU, and meet in the middle (high 300 to 400).
Aye ! One gotta haggle! 😂
Exactly, DO NOT UPSET JOHN CLEESE
Curious what your impression of Truveta was. Been looking at them as a possible move.
Hi, I’ve been considering truveta too. Have you been able to get any info?
Nope. Did some LinkedIn searching and seems like engineers are slowly being hired and definitely on the more junior side. A lot of upper management seems to be in place (see a lot of directors hired). My guess is mid-senior hires would definitely get a lot of say in design if that’s what you’re looking for. Being at a startup now that’s what I enjoy most. I plan to apply soon. I’ll update if anything comes of it.
location?
Azure Redmond
You said you moved from aws to cdo Why join azure? You will have the same oncall pain you experienced in aws. I was in aws before and I left
