Dies anyone have any knowledge about the PowerBI team at microsoft? how is the WLB and culture?
Product is doing good. As far as I see WLB is good.
Power BI is stuck in its own Microsoft world of patchy work to a sucking product. High time MS renews it from scratch like Office 365 or, it will be dead because of Thoughtspot.
Toxic org, stay away. Wlb depends on the team but on-call will be heavy due to short-sighted design decisions.
Wow, lots of PBI haters here. I wonder how many work in BI at all or have more than a 101 knowledge of PBI
It is used internally to create a lot of reports. And it is quite frustrating to use it
I think most people’s exposure to it is just the poorly designed internal reports
Does anyone have any info on the team itself? I don’t really care if it’s a shit product lmao
The PMs are pretty well-liked across the industry but I don’t know any details from the inside.
I used PowerBI when I was an engineer at Microsoft. Safe to say it’s the worst Microsoft product from a usability standpoint. It’s clunky, hard to set up for large data sets and laggy af. Really shows you that Microsoft isn’t an engineer’s company these days.
WLB is fine but management is terrible. Stifling bureaucracy even by Microsoft standards. If you’re happy wasting your day gaining no marketable skills this place is for you.
Can't comment about the internals, but as a product I don't see a lot of value in it
