Received an offer from MSFT for a program manager role. I’m trying to find out what to expect when it comes to raises for when the time comes (base pay offered vs base pay when raises come) or what to expect when it comes time for raises. Recruiter really didn’t explain things well and rushed through the call. Level: 60 Base pay: 109k Sign on: 30k Location: 100% remote (told them I’d be in TX though) Stocks: worth 100k #tech #salary #microsoft #programmanager
I heard new grad base is 110
New grad base at 59 in Seattle is 112k this year. It’s 121k at 60. But Microsoft pays way more for interns who convert offers because they’re very very selective in offering internships. They also gave 180k stock and a 30k joining bonus for L60 intern to full time hires this year.
Ok yeah I feel like I got a trash offer then. But the offer is still way better than what I’m currently making
They might adjust for Texas. You might ask how much they will pay if you are willing to move to Seattle. Maybe they dropped you by 20 percent.
How were you able to negotiate to 100% remote? I am looking to do the same
I told them I had ties in Texas (told them a personal family thing which was made up) and the recruiter came back and said I could be 100% remote and would travel to Redmond for like main events or whatever if needed. Just be aware if you do negotiate 100% remote it might mess with your base pay.
Gotcha sounds good! Will they pay for your travel to Redmond?

Uh oh: President Trump leads Biden 49% to 43% in a two-way race.
Whats your YOE? The base pay is very low.
In tech 4 to 5 years. Product management around 2. And I thought the salary was low also but the recruiter kept saying that was the best they could do.
I would say skip this offer . MSFT is generally not very generous with refershers as well and that base pay is low very low for any descent texas mid level city
