That’s not sexist. I just want a better gender ratio. Because I feel they have qualities which promote healthier team. Less competitive and less foul language and aggression
I agree we need better ratio, but this Is sexist, you are saying women are less competitive and men are more aggressive...
Exactly. Better ratio is needed, but that doesn't mean that the bar is lowered and that men are denied of the opportunities that are being offered to women. That right there is reverse sexism and in no way a solution to sexism. It is only going to make things worse
There's no such thing as reverse sexism. Regardless probably because they want their business to do well and because it is the right thing to do?
+1
Hiring based on gender is good for a business and is the right thing to do? I thought hiring the best person for the job regardless of race and gender worked toward those goals but I guess not.
Heard that if an engineer is female and doesn’t behave like a b*tch, one level up every 1.5-2years is almost guaranteed. Take it with a grain of salt.
Weakdick
I agree on the right thing to do part but as long as they don't make the bar low and intentionally reject deserving candidates to balance the ratio. That would be like doing double Wong. Also, the worst part is that it is impossible to even detect something like that happened.
Exactly. Totally agree. And because of that reason that they're doing it year after year
The most comical part is that every company is hiring a VP diversity/culture, those so called jobs is to just count how many women, black, Asian, folks are in a given place (team or company). They get paid 5x times of an engineer as it is a VP position. If you don't believe me then lookup who is the VP diversity in your company or any other companies and check their background and profiles. You will get an idea what I'm talking about.
What does “consistent” even mean? 50/50? Because it’s well documented that the ratio graduating in this field is 75/25. 50/50 would imply a strong anti-male hiring committee. .
(50/50... Like the current intern crop 😬)
The amount of justification for reverse sexism in this thread is astonishing.
https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.nytimes.com/2017/06/14/business/women-sexism-work-huffington-kamala-harris.amp.html This article is about what qualified women actually face at work on a day-day basis
I have never seen that men try to dominate based on gender at work. If they dominate, it's regardless gender. Its how business works all the time. I am against any gender based biased behavior. However society forces companies to hire minorities despite they are underqualified. That will lead to consequences for business. So current trend is biased and people of minority groups abuse it

Even if they do, it’s a great thing. There should be more women in Tech. They will bring sanity to the dog eat dog culture created by male dominance
What does that even mean?
That’s a sexist comment if I’ve ever seen one. Men can show sympathy and kindness too. It’s about the type of person you hire and not the gender. I know some women who are totally vicious.
