Microsoft SE2 salary range

I’ve received a verbal offer from Microsoft and was told the salary range is in 120s (still finalizing package). Offer is for the Redmond office, and I’m coming in with 4 years experience. Wondering if that range sounds about right with what others are getting?

Are you complaining? If you have done your research you should know whether you’re within range.

Not complaining at all, just looking to compare a bit with what others have reported.

This was just range for base. Total comp package is still being put together.

Nice, thanks! Funny, I mentioned Paysa to the recruiter and they said the rates there are grossly off

That's their job to get you at a discount price. Check this out, these are real data from h1b filling http://h1bdata.info/index.php?em=Amazon+Corporate+Llc&job=Software&city&year=2017 Some sde 2 are making 170k ish base.

My base in Microsoft as SDE1 / L60 is $120k. You should definitely get atleast $130k as base.

Awesome, thanks for the feedback!

This is pretty good base. Do you know your compa ratio?

The salary range based on level is big. Just cause someone else is getting 120 as an sde doesn't mean you should be getting more. Maybe you're being offered a lower level position with a salary closer to the high end. Question is.... Do you want to work for Microsoft or is it purely about who pays you more? Either answer is fine but if you're driven and have the passion Microsoft is a great place to work for. Base salary is not everything. Look at the other perks you get in your contract.

Since our stock refreshers suck, it's best to maximize base + initial stock grant.

I hear ya, appreciate the feedback. Personally I'm interested in Microsoft because the project sounds incredible, and it's a good chance to go full-stack. At the same time I also don't want to leave money on the table if I can help it, so this thread has been pretty helpful to me

Your base is good. Are u in Redmond campus ?

Microsoft cKdB27 Nov 18, 2017

Are you saying every 62 makes 150k?

Microsoft biddut Nov 19, 2017

I was making $148k as L62 right before promo to L63. I think $150k as L62 is the max end of the band.

Microsoft program22 Nov 18, 2017

He’s saying his comp.

Indeed TheRight1 Nov 18, 2017

Shoot for 180k total comp
