I am planning to apply for firmware engineer at Microsoft. I have about 3yrs of experience in SSD development at Intel. Was looking for a general idea on TC at microsoft for the job position mentioned in the subject.
Thanks in advance.
Probably looking at l61. Maybe 135 base, 100k rsu, 30k sign on. Something like that. That gives you between 185-205 TC over 4 years not counting merit raises or promos. This last year l61 got between 40-50k extra stock awards as well. Also, you will very likely be promoted during the 4 years, perhaps more than once which would raise your TC as well.
Oh wait I see you asked about senior. That indicates l63 but external candidates with only 3 toe would normally not be considered for senior positions.
It's a bit of a gray area but I'd guess 5 or so. That said, it's a relatively specialized skill so you may want to give it a go. They can only say no, right? Another option is they may offer you at an sde 2 level (l61 as I described above, and l62 are both sde 2).

Thank you ! This helps alot. Also what is the minimum amount of experience to be considered for senior firmware positions?
