Hello Everyone,

I have been applying to Microsoft for the past years now and I haven’t been able to get a call from recruiters.

I don’t know if it’s my resume, or I don’t have the skills.

Any advise please?

If you’re not getting calls then it’s def a resume issue.

  • For early in career folks (1-2 yoe), most hiring is through university recruiting.

For “industry hires” , if you’ve got a no-name university and limited yoe, or don’t have experience at recognizable companies or known open-source projects, you’re unlikely to get a call.

No idea what a “masters in cybersecurity” is. Comp sci degrees definitely preferred for tech roles.

I’ve done a fair number of “waste of time” interviews over the years. They suckfor everyone. Based on what you’ve described, I’m not surprised you’re not getting callbacks.

Hope you are not using Novoresume sort of templates. Heard they mess up in ATS

Security jobs, 1-2 years. I apply to security jobs with 1+ years experience. I have my security + cert and a masters in cybersecurity.

Doesn't really seem to stand off as odd from what you said. If you can't get an interview even with referrals like you mentioned below, then you could try having your resume reviewed by one of those services. I've seen people get decent feedback from posting a redacted resume on here, but it doesn't look like you would be comfortable with that.
