Got an SPM offer to work on Microsoft Teams product. Have heard/read good reviews of the product so far. How does the future looks like for Teams? Any info would be helpful for me to make a decision. Thanks!
Teams Product Group roles are the most sought after jobs these days at Microsoft. Internally, MS takes this product very seriously plus product has a great roadmap in coming months. I'd say SPM is a good bet!
It’s going to be hard to switch people who are not already using Skype for Business.
The VP is notorious for micro management. The org. is filled with junior folks who just March to his tunes. As a SPM you will not have autonomy or influence on the roadmap or customer experience. You will learn a lot about managing up
As someone in the know of things, run. Run as far as possible from Teams. Over 85% of the PM team quit in the last year. Is it a good product - yes. Is the PM management just crumbling - YES.
Agree - How do you know tho?
About a month back, all the PM folks who interviewed me were working with Teams for more than an year. Given that Teams only has been around for a couple of years, I thought it was good growth (and retention). Also, if they were crumbling, wouldn’t that be a good place to be in, take on the challenge and grow? Sorry, I play too much sports :)
Don’t join Teams , worst work life balance and PM promotions never happen ,devs gets most promos by shipping , PM triages bugs and have no real life
When you go for the interview, can you tell them to look at the questions I have left in their Yammer page? Or what is the best way to get in contact with them?
Any of you guys have any feedback or insights in regards to the design teams at Microsoft teams

Does msft really pay this low?
Teams is playing catch up to Slack. Most questions are how come I can do this in Slack but not Teams? Also a lot of performance issues in the client.
