As the title suggests I want to move to microsoft but wanted to find out if they allow mac or is it going to be a struggle. Also do they use java since they are .net heavy company
No you don't get a Mac work laptop. You get a Surface, as is completely reasonable considering Microsoft manufacturers the Surface themselves. Microsoft uses whatever technology works best and it's almost never Java over C#. C# has probably one of the best maintenance and support communities of any language. .NET Core is really good. We don't use Java because it's almost never the best choice. We do have some projects in Scala, Python and Go but they're not plentiful.
MacOS/Linux: yes (unless work is OS specific). Java: no. If your team does dotnet, how would Java work for you?
What is the big deal about macs?
Some teams in the Office group work on Mac since they're building Office for Mac. Some teams use Java or Kotlin for Android related work.
Dose it use Linux?
