It’s actually not as horrifying as say here and it is a good org the do deliver value and have lots of great people and are doing some really great stuff. Please don’t let this be your only source for decision making - please. It is a good way to get it. You will get to keep your soul (as much as corporate let’s you all up) and you will learn a lot.

That group will eat your soul a day at a time... If you are any good, you will become disillusioned and leave Microsoft within a year. If you're not good, congrats you found the right group...

  You should be in the role for 9-12 months before switching. A year is nothing before switching and you'll get needed experience being a new grad. Plus, prove how great you are and move to platform when the job is open.

You're first promo will be automatic wherever you go at msft unless you royally suck. Get in, get that promo, and leverage it into informationals and an offer on another team.
