What's superior?
Apple is probably the most similar company to msft both from a product and corporate identity standpoint.
Apple is a product company, Google would be more of a competitor to MSFT. However, the most lucrative companies right now are those with cloud computing...which apple does not have.
They are the consumer analog to us. We offer businesses cloud things, they offer customers clouds and even more soon with upcoming news and tv services.
Doesn’t it vary a lot depending on the team or org you worked in? I worked in Azure and it had a horrible culture of bosses deciding your deadlines for you, endless pressure, no thankfulness etc. I find Apple much more relaxed and open to ideas without having to wade through bureaucratic bs. ymmv.
Was in Bing, WLB hard to say, MSFT has no work, Life definitely MSFT >>>>> AAPL, in the days that guaranteed everyone got their own office, colleague even WFH 2 days/week and 2 days with kids in his office, working 1 day. But TC AAPL >>>> MSFT. I do hear partners make a lot, but I’m below that level.
Eh, my TC is pretty good, Apple does pay a lot though but for the 10 or 20k more I would have made at apple it wasn’t worth it to me tbh. I’m still in contact with quite a few teams at Apple, so I could go back if I wanted to. Right now I don’t desire to.
10k doesn’t really worth it. AAPL for me was +100k TC, and the refresh in MSFT is.. meh~ so almost a +200k
