If you read the email, it says that we are not mandated to go back to Pre pandemic office location until Sept 7th. Until then, a hybrid approach where you work with your manager on a schedule of coming into the office if you are comfortable.

Umm no it isn’t. Sept 7 is the date, and even then you can work up to 50% from home.

It's encouraged, which means if you don't show up, you will get dinged. Of course they won't make it mandatory.... Not just yet.
Your manager must not be accommodating. It really depends on your team for whether you get ‘dinged.’ If you can’t strategize how to be as or more effective than teammates who start showing up, then that will be an issue

That’s encouraging news to me. I was personally disappointed when Amazon pushed the full return back to September (still optimistically hoping that momentum for RTO picks up before then)
Why do you care what others are forced to do? I can see offices reopening on an as desired basis first, and wish more companies were doing that.
How in the world is it encouraging to force workers back into the office when they are just as productive or better remotely?
