Microsoft job offer
Got this offer from Microsoft for a physical design engineer position (ic4/senior engineer I think, not sure about level 63/64) in the Portland area: $148k base Signing bonus: $200k RSUs vest in 4 years $30,000 cash Before I counter, curious how competitive do you think this offer is for someone with 9 YOE?
If this is for 64, you can easily get: Base/RSU/Bonus - 180/300/50 The most I’ve seen personally is: 190/400/100
Thanks for the input! Was this for a software position or hardware? Guessing there is a cost-of-living premium in Seattle vs its little brother Portland.
But those offers were in Seattle. Not sure how they map to Portland.
It looks like a decent offer. Hardware engineering and Portland base will map a little bit differently than Portland. Many relatives and acquaintances have really enjoyed their careers at Microsoft, especially now that the Ballmer "eat your young" years are over.
