Microsoft offer usually start this big?

Offer is from Microsoft for SDE2 in Redmond:

Base 145
Stock 15/yr 4y vest
Bonus 35k

TC 195k

Much higher than I was expecting for opening offer. Can this be negotiated up at all? Seems really stock-light and base-heavy... what should I counter with?

I have 5 YoE

Stocks should be higher 120-160k for 4 years
Bonus payout is only 50% of target so be prepared for it

@frogmetal was your total comp on that 61 around 200k year 1? I have competing offers too, I’m trying to figure out where Microsoft’s hard limit would be on a 61/62...

OP, sorry my usernames not frogmetal anymore lol. 140k base + 35k/year stock + 30k signon + 14k bonus(assuming 10%) comes to around 220k first year TC.
EDIT: This is probably the highest they will go for a L61.

What's your yoe/background? That sounds like what my new grad friends are at, maybe with less base more stock less sign-on
