Offer is from Microsoft for SDE2 in Redmond: Base 145 Stock 15/yr 4y vest Bonus 35k TC 195k Much higher than I was expecting for opening offer. Can this be negotiated up at all? Seems really stock-light and base-heavy... what should I counter with? I have 5 YoE

Base and bonus are solid. Stock should be way higher
How much higher? Can SDE2 at Microsoft TC clear 230k? 250k? I didnโt think that was reachable until Senior-level
+1 stock should be higher. I got L61 140k base and 140k stock with 3 YOE. I had a competing offer though with a similar breakdown.
Is that a sign on bonus or an annual bonus?

Stocks should be higher 120-160k for 4 years Bonus payout is only 50% of target so be prepared for it
What do you mean by only 50% of target? Edit: oh, are you talking about what the taxes would be on a sign on? This bonus is yearly incentive
Your target bonus for a year is 35k I am saying according to performance reviews at Microsoft, average performer gets 17-18k which is 50%. And this is pre-tax

Late October. Not a hiring event exactly, but something similar. Why do you ask?
I gave their interview on Nov 1st and want to understand if you have given it at the same time as well. They gave me the offer today.
