On my microsoft offer letter, the on-hire stock grant has no vesting date mention in it, what’s the vesting date going to be?
I am in engineering by the way, if that matter
25% 6 months and then every year 25%
25% first year. Then 6.25% every quarter. You will get the schedule and number of stocks you on the fifteenth of the month you join. If you join after 15th then it’s the next month 15th.
Almost. I joined on 10th and they said it was already too late for the current month, so got my RSU next month on 15th.
@OPaB84rg does your offer letter have vesting schedule? It’s strange not having it written on the offer letter I got. But recruiter emailed me the schedule but refused adding it to the offer letter. Should I enforce recruiter to add it?
My recruiter says 25% the first 6 months, and 25% each of 3 years later. Total 3.5 years
I don’t think it works that way. Yours might be a special case it is true.
What do you mean? Should be 4 years instead of 3.5?
For new grad it's over 3.5 years. For everyone else, 4 years.
Since the vesting is over 3.5 years for college grads and 4 years for industry hires, does it affect the yearly stock bonus? Do you still get the yearly stock bonus during that period? I read somwhere Amazon doesn't give yearly stock bonus for this period since their initial offering is higher.
They are unrelated
Generally 20% each year for 5 yrs
No, on hire is 25% at each block. First one after six months, then every year after that until the 3.5yr mark
