I'm joining Azure as an SDE and have a choice to choose from a Lenovo laptop or a PC desktop. Wondering if I can also get a MacBook after I join?

Simply because of flexibility.
They'll otherwise send you a bulky thinkStation.
Major issue being the movement.
For eg, my friend cannot go on vacation just because they'll have to be online. Had it been a laptop, they could have connected from car/vehicle.
Also, looks like their thinkStations do not come with WiFi card
And who's there @msft to work anyways!!
