I need some help in deciding what offer to (Entry level) go for in Deloitte Consulting or program manager role. Long term I eventually want to pursue an MBA please which role will anyone recommend any why.
If you want to stay in tech long term and you have a chance to be a PM at MS, you can honestly skip the MBA (PM is a role targeted by lots of MBAs after graduation... I know from experience) If you want an MBA to get into something else (IB/finance, consulting, CPG, etc) then go for Deloitte.
Well get into mba now
I'm currently a college grad and would like to get experience
Vote for msft
Ask yourself the following: - (for men) Do you have 2 or more pairs of brown cap toe oxfords? - (for women) do you have a closet full of work heels? - (for men) To you, does “business casual” mean suit with no tie? - (for women) to you, does business casual mean flats instead of heels? - can you pack a Tumi/Travelpro/Away carry-on with Marie Kondo like efficiency? - Do you play golf? - do you drink? - No seriously, do you drink, a lot? - Are you single? if not, are you prepared to be single? - do you dream of PowerPoint and selling work? If you answered “yes” to the majority of these questions, then congratulations, you’re perfectly suited to becoming a Deloitte travelling PowerPoint salesperson.
Deliotte sounds terrible. It's an accounting firm.🤮
Deloitte likes to call themselves “the d.” Or “d.” (With the period) so yeah draw your own conclusions
And there’s this ongoing joke/meme about Deloitte being harder to get into than Harvard
Microsoft. Even if you want to pursue management consulting after MBA. I don't foresee McKinsey or Goldman hiring a former Deloitte analyst but they'd be happy to hire a MSFT PM. Plus, this opens up the tech sector for you. It's a no brainier. Congratulations and welcome!
Just a data point on MSFT, they will help pay for your MBA in part.
Sorry just to be clear do they offer to pay part of the tuition for MBA
Yes. There is a limit on how much per year, but I'm not sure how much. UW offers a 2 year course but it straddles 3 calendar years so you can use the allowance on each year. Note, you get this while working on the MBA at the same time as working at msft, not sure if they'd let you leave for 2 years and still cover it
It’s harder to get into deloitte than Harvard.

Which firm is more prestigious: Boston Consulting Group or Palantir?
Depends on what you want to do post MBA. If you want to be a part of tech then MS will help but if management consulting is your aim then Deloitte is a better bet.
