Curious what your thoughts are in this interesting competitive space. Microsoft as always been viewed as that tech giant that's been a threat because of its Dynamics CRM platform, the O365 cloud service and how it does not have to rely on 3rd party web services (like salesforce has to do for AWS) On the other hand, salesforce dominates in the bigger business end and with CRM automation. What you guys think will happen in the future?
You should refer to Gartner report for ' Magic quadrant for the CRM customer Engagement center' to know more about the space and top players. To me, Microsoft has to play catch-up work in its migration to Cloud when compared to Salesforce and Oracle CRM offerings. Oracle Service cloud is currently leading compared to Microsoft offering As such there is a lot of scope for companies adopting SaaS Cloud. So there are growth opportunities for the major CRM companies. Salesforce had a first mover advantage. Hence they are leading as of now and at the same time they are also innovating. But they have to work harder as the competition in Cloud CRM is increasing and Oracle has been aggressive over the last two years to catch up. Hence they are ahead of Microsoft at the moment. I guess Microsoft Dynamics started to gain after Satya Nadella took over. Some -ive feedbacks of SFDC: higher prices, vendor lock in, not as reliable compared to Oracle for large scale, high-volume and complex implementation of CRM systems. SFDC strategic partnerships with AWS and IBM WATSON should help it transition to a big enterprise player Future of this space: it is going to get crowded and interesting. Companies which can integrate AI/ML and IIT into its cloud CRM automation offering should get an upper edge

Salesforce, obviously.
Dynamics sucks so badly, even LinkedIn data wouldn't help then. They will be doing re-orgs every quarter (as usual for MS) and each new manager would come with his/her "new" bright ideas, none of them would ever be delivered though.

Will be interesting to see how Dynamics leverages LinkedIn data to create new functionality. IMO they're still a few years out from stealing meaningful market share
