Hi folks,I’ll be joining the Microsoft Azure Identity team in two weeks from today.I’d like to know how performance is measured and what determines promotion?how do you go from L62 to L63 and how long will it take to get to L65 at least. Also, how easy is it to switch department.I.e to go from Architecture team to Identity team and vice versa. Thanks guys #microsoft #MicrosoftIdentity #IdentityEngr #performance #Promotion #tech
Identity has a low retention rate, great for growth though. Just a fair warning. I’ve been in my role for almost a year and am ready to jump ship. When you get in, ask about people impact cards, they should link you a doc stating all the things you’ve asked. All depends on your role and IC stage. You can also look up career guide from HR Web which outline these. https://microsoft.sharepoint.com/sites/hrw/careerguide/Pages/careerguide.aspx
@YSmk56 I’m happy you currently work in the Identity department.I’d like to know why the department has low retention rate? What makes people in the Dept wanna jump ship? The Dept culture? The management style or the Identity role itself?what’s the daily activities like with the Identity Dept. You’re welcome to DM me if you wanna. Thanks
I never worked in Identity but I heard that they’re in firefighting mode a lot (heavy live site/ops load) and supposedly there’s a lot of legacy tech there. I remember seeing Identity job reqs on sdejobs (job posting group for internal employees) - that’s sometimes a sign of retention problems.
Congratulations. How many days it took for you to join the company from signing on offer letter?
Your North Star should be to perform at the level above you.
