I have been offered a senior program manager position at L-64. The position is in Redmond.

Base: $170K
RSU: $115K over 4 years so $29k/year
Bonus: 0-30%. (Not sure how much average performance gets)

Sign on: $20K
Refreshers: No numbers. Need to know from you guys.

Is this a good offer? Please let me know where can I negotiate and by how much. Should I count any SSA grant for above average performance (not top notch)?

  • It depends on what competing offers you have. I am sde 1 and I got offered 125k stocks. You can push harder on stocks and sign on (30k at least) for sure.

Surprised everyone is saying this is good offer. This is pretty damn low to be honest. I’m L62 in Bay Area and making more than the 224K TC you’re offered.

  • above average for microsoft, shows they came in with a pretty reasonable offer, you can push stock grant higher but you're already up there, refreshers bonus salary etc are all locked together by policy. unless you've got something special going on about you sounds fine

  • This is good compensation. Sign on is bit too less but that mostly depends on what you are losing with this move. They might not consider SSA given this year for negotiation as your stocks are already taking care of it.

      Redmond.

      Breakdown - 160 base, 200k stock and 15% bonus.

      Sign on is 25k year1 and 20k year 2.

I have a friend in office who joined a couple of months back as a 63. His comp is around 190k. Which is why i think Azure scales are higher.
