Microsoft vs Robinhood New Grad

Robinhood (Menlo Park, CA) - Backend Engineer, New Grad Microsoft (Bellevue, WA) - Software Engineer L59 (Business Application Group) Downside with Robinhood is that it is private so stocks are paper money. Microsoft - 110k base, 120k over 3.5 years RSUs, 25k sign on, 5.5k relocation (10% yearly target perf bonus) Robinhood - 135k base, 216k over 4 years RSUs, 30k sign on, 5k relocation Which offer would you choose and why?#engineering #software #salarynegotiation #salarycomparison #compensation

MSFT base+RSUs is barely higher than Robinhood base salary

Is this a trick?

I had this exact situation and chose Msft (except instead of Robinhood it was 3 unicorns in the Bay Area), no regrets. Consider that CoL is lower in Bellevue/Redmond and non-paper RSUs are also nice

Robinhood cuz taking risks while young is probably a good idea. Also ask yourself where you’d want to live

If you're graduating in May 2021 who knows if we'd even be back in the office by then, so don't overindex on location and lose out on $200k, come join us :0
