Anyone has any good idea about Mitre TC in DC metro area for Lead Cyber or Systems engineer jobs? Glassdoor range doesnt seem to be correct as its very low as compared to big tech. I though govt contracting with clearances pays as much as big tech.
You can make more if you contract for yourself and have relationships with gov big wigs
Yeah that prob takes time to develop. These big tech companies pay so good that its hard to make a decision to get out due to comp. i feel like i am burned out and yet its hard to decide to leave.
FB hires privacy SWEs in DC. Try them
Want to try and avoid big tech due to bad wlb 😞
Do you work in Cyber Security? Are you in the Amazon ASOC?
I’ve been doing Cyber Threat Intel at MITRE. Pay is no where near private sector/consulting, but my work/life balance is awesome. I laugh at my FB/Google Friends with all their perks when I can leave the job behind at the end of the day.
I make a tc of 200 at mitre as a lead staff. Pay is in the 150s
Any idea what the senior pay range is?
How are you calculating TC? Base bonus and RSU is what’s usually in there and Mitre only really has the first. Maybe you count the generous retirement match but I still don’t see path to 200k as a Lead
Retirement and benefits (healthcare etc)
And social security apparently
Does Mitre pay extra for security clearances?
Nope. Everybody hired at mitre is expected to be able to get a clearance.
Close but nope. It will top out at 200k
200k is for principal engineer or just lead/senior engineer in general?
Either.
