Mixed Signal Verification offer in Bay Area

Hi all, I have been working as a Mixed Signal Verification Engineer at Intel, Hillsboro for last 3 years. I recently received an offer from Texas Instruments in Santa Clara for Mixed Signal Verification. Can you please help me review the offer and do you have any feedback about Texas Instruments as a company? Should I ask for stocks at signing as well? # TI offer for Grade 26: $125k Base + $20k Signing +15 Relocation Currently at Intel TC: $107k YOE: 3 yrs

You can get better offers! 125 for Bay Area is out of school compensation. What about stocks?

Look for a total comp of atleast ~150k. No point in moving to bayarea else

TI IOlOl0 Jan 7, 2020

TI usually has 20% profit sharing which will bring his comp to 150k if base is 125k

Analog Devices HulkBust OP Jan 7, 2020

Is TI worth the move though?

Intel bitguy Jan 7, 2020

You should target atleast ~175k

Trying my best to increase the offer.

Don’t

Care to elaborate?

I’m in TI SC. Compensation is poor, raises are slow, culture is bad (expectations of long hours for less new employees), benefits are embarassing for CA, if he’s joining the product line I suspect they’re hiring for he will have a bad time.

It’s a competitive offer for a HW company in the bay..... if u want more pay, u should target Nvidia, ARM, Apple, or an AI silicon company.... otherwise it’s a decent offer for TI.... HW pay is low across the board unless u are at an innovative company

Intel tevC03 Jan 8, 2020

Intel folks leaving Intel off the board of innovative companies. Ouch! Do you really feel that way?

Intel Bob Swanny Jan 8, 2020

We haven’t delivered many innovative products to the market in a long time.... for instance, I worked on AI products and there was a lot of resistance from several Intel orgs to enter or compete in that market...

TI xguw71 Jan 7, 2020

That's basically 150k base due to profit sharing.
