I'm working as a Mixed Signal Verification Engineer for over 3 years in Bay Area. I want to switch to Digital Verification because of my interest. I have experience with UVM, constrained random, SVA, UPF And SDF simulation however am not as exposed as a digital verification Engineer would be in all the above. How should I make the switch to Digital Verification? TC: $152k YOE: 3.5yrs
I’ve been working in MSV for almost 3 years as well. Couple of things I’ve experienced while trying to make the switch so far: 1. It’s been pretty hard to get callbacks from CPU DV teams but I’ve been able to get some callbacks from ASIC DV teams. 2. When I do get callbacks, if I’m able to prove my skills in UVM/OOPs and answer general verification mindset and logic design questions, I’m able to get through the next rounds. Also, this might be slightly tangential, but I signed up for LinkedIn Premium recently and it has helped with at least getting recruiters view my profile. Most of them seem to contact me for MSV roles, but 🤞
