How much would you value the google perks? Food Transportation Gym Gfleet Laundry Internet my take- food : cheapest good meal $20. So say $500 a month. transportation: $150 pm Gym: $100 pm Gfleet: $75 pm Laundry: Not sure. Say $25 pm Internet: $75 pm Total: $925 round it up $1000 1000*12 12000 posttax approx 20k pretax Sounds about correct?
A few thousand $ per year. Not enough to make a huge difference.
5-10k, depending on how much food you eat. It technically more like 2.5-5k, but it's pre-tax!
15k pretax looks like a fair value, do you think itâs over estimated? Why?
Depends on what you think your habits will be. Just estimate the cost of what you'll use and just for how much you would have to pay in pretax dollars. For me it was like 10k pre, because I used the gym and ate lunch and snacks every day, and frequently had dinner.
Free food is just a marketing tectics. Not a huge financial advantage. May be around 2~3k. But if you bring food from home, instead of eating out, it would be only about 1.5k or so. Not worth changing job for
Not changing a job for it. Point is when looking outside, should one consider these perks and their monetary value?
Agree. As for the convenience argument, why not just order delivery then? Free food isn't that big of a deal but I guess you have to have experienced it first before the novelty wears off
What if youâre not in MV
Does Google have laundry machines at work? Lol! WTF
Depends on your personality I think. For me free food is worth a lot more than $500 a month. I value the convenience a lot
Think about health benefits too - IVF, surrogacy, mental health support, nutritionist, etc Someone calculated it to be $30k/year but I think that might have included 401k matching etc Iâd also consider âtime savedâ by having everything (bank, hair salons, gym etc) on/near campus into the calculation.

How many hours do you workout everyday?
10k
Care to explain?
Food is the biggest one among the bunch. I spend $10 on my lunch. If company offered free dinner Iâd eat that too. $10 x 2 (lunch + dinner) x 5 (days) x 4 (weeks) x 12 (months) = 4,800. Letâs call it 5,000 for our argument. Internet is ~80 so letâs say 1,000 a year. Gym etc is probably 2,000 a year. You can just fill in the rest for 3,000 and a good round number becomes 10,000
