curious as to everyones cash take home after taxes and after housing compared to city and TC cash: $4000/month TC : 90k city: gulf coast small city
Seattle Salary: 80k Take home: $4200/mo, $55000 year after 401k, stock purchase and benefits Rent: $1210. Courtesy of MFTE a few years ago when TC was $43 and I qualified for the housing program. The high TC is crazy to me to read. I save $1400 per month, live in a studio walking distance to work, have an expensive gym membership and go out whenever I want. I think expectations get pretty nuts. I want to increase my TC to buy a house etc. but I’m not hurting day-to-day.
I’m guessing you don’t have a family or work in SLU
Fair point. No dependents, and work closer to Pike + 3rd
56k???
Holy fuck
I max out my 401K, Roth and claim 0 dependents. So my ~12K/month paycheck comes out to like ~7K cash after all the deductions, taxes. I am paying 2300 in just rent (with pet rent) + ~$500 utilities/month. Some savings after 1 yearly vacation and a few mini vacations with the family (parents and siblings). I eat out mostly or shop at whole foods - which gets very expensive, but there is only 1 you. I cut the gym as I never used it. I do splurge at day spas tho. There is no point in working so hard and neglect yourself! Remember there's also taxes. The take home paythese ppl are boasting may not take them in account. 14YOE Irvine, CA
