Is GE going to continue its track record of laying off people from their San Ramon office? Any more news ?
Oh yeah they did, but they are suffering from serious lack of direction and product strategy and hence they are confused at what they are doing.
I heard from a friend working there that they may have a round of layoff this Fall.
There was news that the new CEO has taken away the blank cheque then digital team had. I guess this means frugality and reprioritization. Any insights on the Cloud Foundry / Pivotal investments and use?
So do I. Spoke to one today told me the same thing.
Layoffs rumored in other sites as well.
Which sites?
DTH
I heard 200 people in Global Ops were given 30 day notices today.
I am hearing more lay offs coming in October in the San Ramon office. Predix is a failed product and they will close down shop very soon
What’s the alternative? Using public clouds and build on as needed. Having been part cloud service offerings and built private cloud platforms, a couple of favorite quotes I have adapted: “friends don’t let friends build private clouds”, “only person who would build a cloud is someone who hasn’t done it before”
They have already moved to public cloud. They have realized that it was a big mistake to have their own private cloud.
Word here is the next round will be in November for accounting roles.
Norwalk hub layoffs....seems like they might close the hub
Didn't they open it recently? I thought they were investing heavily in their San Ramon office
