Most Ethical Finance workplaces

Wondering which companies in the finance industry we would consider to be the most ethical: BOFA, Wells Fargo, McKinsey, Bain, Paypal, Robinhood, Morgan Stanley, Blackrock, Capital One, Bloomberg etc. Is there even such a thing?

McKinsey definitely not โ€” they basically sold out Khashoggi and recommended bribing as part of business building processes in India

McKinsey @valyria May 17, 2019

Hopefully youโ€™re not serious

Morgan Stanley lwvv73 May 16, 2019

Some of these, at least, are so large and distributed that you'll find it hard to characterise them monolithically.

Microsoft OtpG12 May 16, 2019

Thatโ€™s a cop out answer. Define some metrics and prepare an argument

...no

McKinsey is not ethical. Read about their work in S Africa.

OnDeck Capital. This company works super hard to do right by the customer

You should look for private corps not anything publicly traded.

Bloomberg iVX372 May 16, 2019

Bloomberg. We don't make any trades or perform any major legal activities, but merely sell the means to do so. Meanwhile, we have great WLB and Mike just lengthened primary parental leave to 26 weeks.

I have nothing against bloomberg, but you guys only provide data to business who can afford it and that's the nature of the industry. Companies who are doing good for the society but don't have that much money and can't afford Bloomberg get left out which in turn further helps with the divide in the society. I repeat, nothing against bloomberg, I love the tool and the utility. This is just an observation of how nothing in our industry is really ethical. My company is probably more fucked up than yours in that regard.

Bloomberg iVX372 May 17, 2019

Sure. But some companies are doing good for society AND are extremely lucrative. Examples: Apple, Google and medical device companies. In the finance world, VC firms, consumer banks and credit unions debatably also count.

Nobody is ethical, everyone *tries* to be as far as regulation needs it. Welcome to capitalism!
