Most people I talk to about Uber and DoorDash are indifferent
Edit *not at Uber anymore, I have no loyalty to any company like most here, I just follow TC. This isn't about defending a company I worked for*
Why is there so much hate on Blind for gig economy companies? Whenever I talk about grabbing a ride from Uber or ordering food from DoorDash with my non-tech friends and acquaintances, they talk about it like they talk about ordering a Blu-ray on Amazon or watching a movie on Netflix or getting a haircut at the barber. There is none of the vitriol that you see on Blind.
Is Blind just a vocal minority in the same way people on here trash Facebook? It is okay to disagree (kind of like how there is a vocal minority of people who blast Amazon killing small businesses). But the thing I have trouble wrapping my head around is this -- all of the people that shit on Uber and DoorDash probably use their services every day (probably don't even tip) but they complain and fight for gig economy worker rights. Isn't this kind of hypocritical? Like the ones that shit on Uber and Lyft, I guarantee they aren't calling a yellow cab company but instead are figuring out if Uber or Lyft is cheaper, and then stiffing the driver on tips.

Why is it so bad to lament some 22 year olds at doordash became multimillionaires on the backs of small businesses who got screwed or delivery people whose tips they stole. These are facts
I don't think amazon is great here either
