Motivation post Nest Egg Completion

This is for those of you who’ve already saved up enough to not have to think about money ever again and live comfortably off savings(anything around $3 million IMO) , what keeps you motivated to continue working/stay in your job? Especially those of you who got there before 40? What makes you keep working? If you’re not working, what do you do with all your time?

  • You’re looking for motivation from the TC or GTFO crowd :-p ? the FIRE folks have likely left the building.

    • Who knows, what do you do when you get your life back? I would be out there living each day in the real world, spending the least amount of time online.

    • People have been saying this for more than a decade :-p you will find quotes by John Bogle himself from around the last recession where he said we can only expect 2% returns from the s&p 500 going forward, but betting against the s&p 500 is betting against America itself and for starters I don’t see anyone here betting against America in terms of where they choose to live and work 😜, and that’s just the start, the economy will just continue to add value here.
