Any Suggestions? Looking for less expensive neighborhoods or apartments to rent a 1bdr, new job is in Redmond. Not trying to blow 2k on rent monthly. Current rent is 900 for 700sq
You will pay minimum 1500 in Redmond areas. Get used to it.
$2000 is really a norm for the sq footage that you’re used to, and for even less space if you try to be in Seattle/Bellevue downtown. Don’t forget additional $250 for parking and up to another $300 for utilities. I used to pay $2800 for 800 sq ft one bedroom in Bellevue last year
lol
The choice is between blowing 2k+ on rent and sitting in miserable traffic for 2.5+ hours a day commuting from low rent neighborhoods. If you're moving to the West Coast, you need to rethink your baseline of what housing costs. For $900 the only reasonable expectation is to share a studio, not even a full on 1 bedroom, with someone else.
Lol you realize youre coming from bumfuck nowhere to seattle right
There are more bums in Seattle than in average Midwest town. It is a big question which one is bumfuck and which one is a decent place to live. On top of that, other than natural beauty, Seattle is a boring unimpressive overgrown village with skyscrapers and bums.

The new Tesla Model 3 P goes from 0-60 in 2.9 seconds
If you are willing to travel then Everett/Renton. Everything else is at least 1.5K for one bed.
How long is the commute?
Good luck commuting from Everett to the campus when everyone else mozy on in at 10am. If you don't want to spend 75 minutes one way you better leave before 7am and hope you have flex schedule.
